The Neerikode Service Co-operative Bank was started working on 20th Feb 1916 in Alangad Gramma Panchayath. The bank is going on with great progress. The bank is providing maximum facilities to the customers.
The working area of the Bank covering ward 1 to 10 and 12 of the Alangad Grama Panchayat which covers sub-areas of Neericode, Kottappuram, Alangad,Koduvazhanga, and Thiruvalloor. The area measured 9 Square kilometers and have 5500 families residing there.
The audited accounts of the bank as on, 31.07.2020 reveals the shareholder’s strength as 19994. It is a “class one special grade” Bank and one of the leading co-operative institutions in North Paravur Taluk. In the beginning, The bank was caring farmers in general and coconut farmers, in particular and as such it was granting coconut pledge (kettu thengu) loan to farmers. Today the Bank is capable of meeting all financial needs of the people, agriculture, and non-agriculture. Now the Bank is the ultimate point for the solution of each and every need of the people and therefore, it is widely seen as a great umbrella and shadow tree to the people of this area. It has contributed more to the economic development of the area and the bank has the capacity and capability. It has many years of experience to ascertain the problems and offer solutions. Long-standing experience and a wide service delivery system can be read from past history. Now it is part of history.
